If you follow my work, you will know that I'm mostly a black and white photographer because my black and white photograph can make the audience more concentrate on the scene, but not this time. I think the colour not only draw attention but also add emotion to the image.

Fuji color profile for the up coming Camera Raw and Lightroom!
I'm not a guy who emphasis on post processing too much, but I will definitely try the upcoming fuji film colour simulation profile for the upcoming Adobe lightroom because I love Fuji colour!

The 200th Post!
Wow, this is my 200th post! It is really incredible for a guy who used to hate writing so much to have 200 posts. I was about to give up the blog 4 months ago, after some incredible support from the readers, I keep blogging and I feel that I can keep it running for a long time.

Something is missing
It seems like a ok image when I first saw it, but it is not. The more I see it, the more I feel something is missing. Now i think the image has the good atmosphere, but the story isn't there. If someone or something at the bright side become the subject, it will create the linkage between it and the silhouette people, then it will become a lot stronger. Unfortunately, it isn't, so that I removed it from my Flickr.
You may ask, why I need to removed it from my Flickr, the reason is I want to maintain the stream with my strongest work from now.

Team work
They are the Hon's family. They have a lovely child Tung Tung and she wants to help out her dad Kelvin EVERY TIME when he is holding some bigger stuff. With Eva, Tung Tung's mother on the right altogether , I feel that they are such a lovely team and family.
By the way, the reason why I got this shot was we were heading to dinner together.

Movie Movies
I shot it at the lobby of the cinema. I think it is interesting and I wish I can do something similar with my photography in the future. At home, exhibition, anywhere, I'm not sure, I just like this setting.

Clear sky
I forgot when was the last time I could see the sky with such clarity. I need to capture it because I it was so rare to have a clean sky and felt like I hit the jackpot.

Chinese New Year Eve
I took a day of at the Chinese New Year Eve and I had a walk with the Leica M6 and 35mm Summicron 6 elements combo loaded with Kodak Portra 400.
Antique Shop
I saw the interesting clock(the top left one in the first image) and asked the shopkeeper permission to shoot it. It was really low light, way darker than the final look, it took me more than 30 seconds on each shot (focus exposure, composition, re-focus, re-exposure…..). Since I'm a new student to film, I was a bit scary I would waste these two frames due to the low light condition, but they turned out Great. All I can say is to say thank again to the shopkeeper for the permission to let me spend more than a minute to shot two images (It is a really small shop and I occupied all the space). After I finished those shots, I asked the storekeeper for a portrait but he kindly declined. Otherwise I should post 3 photos instead of these 2.
P.S The quality of the film is really amazed me and I really like the natural colour look from the Kodak Portra 400.

Back to the OMD
I haven't used my OMD for a while and I feel that it is the time for me to pick it up with the 17mm F/1.8 lens to shoot on the street again.

Cage
For this image, I captured it at the floor of my Grandma's place, I really felt that the environment was like a cage to me, which reflects to where I'm at the moment. I can't see the full view of the outside world because my view is limited by the cage. I want to find a way out and see the other side of the world.

Reunion at Chinese New Year
Most of them were the friends that I met 15 years ago when I was about 17 years old who went to Canada alone for school. They helped me to get out of boredom and taught me about friendship, kindness and also Christianity, all the qualities to make me a better person. Now, we only can have gathering one or twice a year, but I still have a heartwarming experience every time we are together. Wish you all have a wonderful year and see you all next time!

Sky from the Chinese New Year day
I shot it on the way to my Grandma's place. In Hong Kong, since it is so compact, you always have a hard time to find the big trees in the city area because tree takes too much space and it is even harder to find the silhouette stems when you look up to the sky like this image. You mostly see tree stems blend along with buildings with no sky.

Kodak Tri-X 400 Pushed 1600
After the Iford hp5, I tried a roll of Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed 1600 and find my ideal film.
Till now, I think both Iford and Kodak have good quality, the problem is on my side. I'm still learning to shoot film. I need to get the four things right in order to make the shot: metering, choose the distance, focusing on the rangefinder and framing inside the viewfinder. Choosing the distance and Framing inside the rangefinder every-time is still a hard job for me because I'm not confident my focusing speed so that I shot at a bad angle(further apart or not direct enough).
