I use the original colour profile from the lightroom most of time, but not this time. I feel that I want to create a more cinematic mood and feel and I must edit the colour to get the result and I'm please with it.

Breakthrough
I have stay in the same loop for such a long period time, and this shot gives me a feeling of a breakthrough. The use of layers( subject and also the crowd from behind), background(the advertisement from the left and right) and the subject all works together like I have never seen anything like this from my work. I have raised my bar this time, wish that I can sustain it in the future.

Hakgwai- The musician who crossover between the east and the west
The music style in Hong Kong is narrow, my foreign friend (who doesn't know my language) told me every song sounds the same in Hong Kong. From my point of view, it is true because most of the Hong Kong music adopted the same formula and recipe, therefore everything sounds identical. Hong Kong music has western influence, but only on the surface, they only adopt their instrument and technology and they always neglect the Chinese music instrument. They believe the Chinese music instrument is old school and only for the elder people.

Lights
That's the outcome when amazing lights hitting the sensor.
In case you are curious about my post processing method, what I did was just applied a my own preset curve(I use it for most of my works) to the image and add vignetting in Lightroom 5.

Taxi
A stilled taxi, water reflection, light trail…
I rare do long exposure, but I think the water reflection is interesting and I give it a try.
Shot without a tripod, I just put my camera on top of the safety fence.

The happiest person
She kindly asked me for help to move her bag down the stairs and I helped her out. When I was helping out she asked me to guess her age and she told me she was over 100 years old!

From documentary to my own thinking- Haiphong Road Temporary Market/ 海防道臨時街市
I used to have the tasty noodle soup with beef ball at the Haiphong Road Temporary Market when I was around 8. More than 20 years later, I go for a visit again and the market is still called "Temporary"and amazingly, it also looks the same as my memories. As I keep walking I find out most of the stores are closed and couple of them are about closing so that I look at my watch, it is around 745pm.

Layers
The more the layer, the more of the story. To me, street photography is not all about perfect composition, it is about to how much story you can put a inside at once.

Far away so close
I had never walked around the garden beside my building . Since I'm free, I gave it a chance and found this nice little plant(I'm idiot of plant and that's no way I know the name of them) with some subtle light on the top edge. This is a lesson that we need to slow down to see things clearly, sometimes our eyes looks blind and miss lot of things or moments that come right across to you. I think everyone knows we need to slow down, but how often we can do it?

My last day @ BrandWorks
This is the last day, so that I decided to use film for today because it suit the moment: last memory.
Moreover, as a beginner in film photography, using it for a whole day should teach me a good lesson.
My second last day @ BrandWorks
Since I had worked this place for almost 3 years, I had an idea to documentary my last 2 days of work. The reason behind it was all about my colleagues, we have been through so much up and down together, we became friends. Therefore, I want to capture all the small pieces of fragments and combine them as a tribute.

Thank you for what you have done to my Birthday
Last wednesday was my birthday, Grace took me to a fine dinning restaurant at Landmark, called CIAK. We had some fantastic food and she brought me a wonderful Paul Smith wallet. I'm great thank you for your arrangement and I had such a wonderful time with you during my birthday.

The last day of work
Today was my last day for the BrandWorks Asia Company Limited.
I had documented the last two days of work, yesterday with digital and today with film(Just wanted to save the cost). I'm working on both editing and writing for the digital part and wish that I can post it in these two days.
Wish that I have time to send the film to the lab by tomorrow.
